Fines wires

LDS: Laser Diffraction Sensor

For very fine wire diameter measurement

laser diffraction sensorThe original LDS instruments have been designed in 1987 to meet a specific demand for in line measurement of fine wire diameters (steel cord). Since, they have been widely used in the wire industry on production lines but also in laboratories.

The LDS, its new version, benefits of the very latest technologies but also of the CERSA’s experience in wire industries. More options and accessories have been added to simplify specific applications. That results of the continuous support and cooperation of our customers. The LDS are today one of our key products, used world wide.

Sizes: 210x60x100mm

LDS0650-H2
2 axes High frequency

Ξ Main advantages

On machines: wire vibration measurement independents

In laboratory: low measurement uncertainty in % of the diameter.

Very high measurement stability and accuracy in time

Long lifetime, entirely static, no moving parts.

Metrological characteristics mentioned for each individual measures. No averaging

Ξ Measurement ranges

LDS2000 »» Ø 50 to 2000 µm (1.8 to 78.7 mils) 1 axis only today
LDS0650 »» Ø 15 to 650 µm (0.6 to 25.6 mils) 1 or 2 axes (H only)
LDS0200 »» Ø 5 to 200 µm (0.2 to 7.8 mils) 1 or 2 axes (H only)

Ξ Metrology

Frequency: 50Hz (Standard version) or 800Hz (1 axis) and 400 Hz (2 axis) for the H versions.
Repeatability: ±0.02 % of the diameter in laboratory, ±0.03% in production.

Limitations:
LDS2000: ±0,09 µm (±0.0035 mils)
LDS0650: ±0,03 µm (±0.001 mils)
LDS0200: ±0,01 µm (±0.0004 mils)
