Made to answer an increasing demand for in line performing defect detection of wires, optical fibres and cables, the SQM reaches performances never got before. That has been possible due the very last optic and electronic technologies now available.
Rejections, production lost due to defects are a financial weight and a bad quality image for producers. The SQM can be paid back shortly, improving production efficiency and quality images of the producers.
Ξ Principle (International patent)
It works like a ring camera, with a constant number of dots on the circumference of the wire, independent of the position and vibration of the wire. The dot size is directly proportional to the wire diameter on the surface.
The instrument check each point individually and sequentially at very high speed and run 313 000 circumferences per second with 64 dots per circumference.
In the table here at right, is shown the characteristics of the detection
according to the wire diameter, line speed and number of dots.
