Diameter measuring tools and defect detection
IN-LINE
C ERSA has developed a line of instruments that uses various technologies to cover a wide range of applications and meet the demands of production plants for speed, accuracy, detection and the characterization of fine defects, as well as provide for records, display, analysis, etc.
Our in-line instruments allow you to monitor the fluctuation in the diameter of a wire or cable (drawing, extrusion ) as well as defect detection (flaw, lump and neck) especially for high speed lines.
Our wire measuring tools for your line of business
LDS was initiated in 1986 for in-line measurement of vibrationg fine wires. First, with one axis, then with two axes to obtain ovality values. Many drawing machine manufacturers and also drawing die manufacturers have integrated our LDS instrument in-line to measure fine wire products. On-board iffraction technology provides high-accuracy measurement (less than 1 µm) for each single value obtained, with no averaging required.
LPS was launched several years later to better meet extrusion concerns. With 3 measurement axes and shadow technology, it provides comprehensive data to monitor the dimensions of larger wires, tubes, pipes and cables. With its high-speed measurement capability, this measuring device characterizes defects and monitors fluctuations in diameter using only one gauge.
These easy-to-use, robust and high-performing gauges, will allow you to control and improve your manufacturing process.
Advantages of our instruments in measuring wire diameter
This optical measurement without contact is also wire vibration independent. The fact that there are no moving parts inside these gauges insures high reliability compared to mainstream, rotating-mirror technology widely used by the competition.
Our 30 years of experience guarantee you will benefit from the best measurement instruments on the market : accuracy, high-speed, repeatability, vibration independent gauges; these characteristics are the keys to our market leadersphip, and make CERSA-MCI stand out from the cometition.
