CERSA has developed a range of instruments using a variety of optical technologies to cover a wide range of applications and to meet production plant requirements for speed, precision, detection and characterization of fine defects. These measurements can then be displayed, recorded or analyzed.

Our in-line instruments enable you to monitor fluctuations in wire or cable diameter (wire drawing and extrusion) as well as detect defects (lumps and neck downs), particularly on high-speed lines.

Our off-line instruments enable you to proceed with incoming inspection and analyses samples from customer’s production. Our gauges are well-known for very fine diameters (down 5µm) and offer different solutions for geometry and surface inspection.

Advantages of our instruments are numerous. The optical measurement is contactless and also wire vibration independent. The fact that there are no moving parts inside our gauges ensures high reliability compared to mainstream, rotating-mirror technology widely used by our competitors.

Diameter, ovality, flaws - All in one Ø 0,3 - 5 mm

Based on the LPS with 3 axis and 20 000 measurements per second / per axis!
Designed for tubes, cables, wires diameter measurement.

Its measurement principle is based on laser projection (shadowing), position and vibration independent.

No averaging required.

All-in-one device: diameter, ovality measurement + lump & neckdown detection.

SQM-F : surface defect detector.

High-resolution and real-time surface defect detection on fine wires, cables and tubes with 128 pixels per circumference and 200,000 images per second.

The defect image is displayed on the CIM for customer analysis and characterization.

Minimum linear resolution: 18μm and 100% of the surface covered.

Based on the SQM-F powerful capabilities, CERSA developed a manual workbench for easily holding samples tight (from 15µm up to 2mm) for an exhaustive analysis of the sample surface over 360°.

Perfect for incoming inspection or sample analysis.

It takes less than 1 min to get an image of the surface!

The dedicated software offers all the tools needed for characterizing surfaces and detecting potential defects.

CERSA-MCI has developed its own PC Software for managing its instruments. CIM provides real-time measurement display and automatic instrument parameter settings according to customer product characteristics. It also records all the measurements and events in a database.

2 different versions are available for wire & cable measurements, depending on use and requirements:

The PROD version has been developed for IN-LINE applications. Adjustment of tolerances and a triggering threshold are specific features for the production environment.

The LAB version has been developed for OFF-LINE applications. This version allows you to classify samples by customizable fields, keep records and generate reports, as well as extract the data to.csv file.
